Indonesia’s foreign tourist arrival rises in July

JAKARTA, (Xinhua) — Foreign holidaymakers coming into Indonesia increased by 10.54 percent to 745,500 people in July year on year, the Statistic Bureau announced here on Monday. In Bali resort island, the center of Indonesia’s tourism industry, the number of foreign tourist arrival rose by 10.75 percent to 279,200 people year on year, Rusman Heriawan, head of the bureau told a press conference.

Like what most people wishes to experience is to be in two places at one time, Istanbul is the best place for you to set foot on. Istanbul is city which spans to two continents namely Europe and Asia. Hence, this city bridges two different cultures of oriental and occidental histories. Istanbul is formerly known as Constantinople and is the largest city in Turkey. It has a total population of 12.8 million people. Istanbul is also one of the largest metropolitan city of Europe. The hybrid of the culture and tradition of Istanbul comprises of the different churches it has such Orthodox Church to Jewish. They also have other mixed traditions from haute couture to sports like soccer. Truly, Istanbul reserves the right to be the true melting pot of two different traditions and culture.

There are many things one can do in Turkey such as sight-seeing the different palaces, mosques, churches, museums, and complex. These places preserve one of the oldest heritages of Istanbul thus, providing a very good feel of the history behind new Istanbul. These places ought to remind travelers and locals of the old Constantinople. Some of the places to go are Topkapi Sarayi, Rustem Pasa Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Turkish and Islamic Art Museum, Archaeological Museum Complex, Suleymaniye Mosque, and many more.

Other hot place to go in Istanbul is the Spice Bazaar known for its market of goods and spices. Another one is, the Grand Bazaar which serves as a labyrinth of more than 3,000 shops. It sells from food to jewelry to things, what-have-you. Just do remember some tips when visiting Istanbul. Be sure to dress properly when planning to visit mosques since they are conservative. Also, the host always pays the meal or if you really insist, you pay for everyone else; sharing is not their thing.

Ever dream of experiencing a travelling in a small city in an oriental country with a good beach and good climate plus the developing commercial and industrial business booming. Staying in Kota Kinabalu would mean a time for nature and a time for urban life. The city boasts of its well-developing economy in terms of commercial industries. The city is the capital of the Sabah state in Malaysia. It is one of the top tourist destination in the cities in Malaysia. Kota Kinabalu (also known as KK) serves as the gateway for the people and tourists going to Borneo and Sabah. This is also considered to be the most urbanized city in Sabah and the top six urbanized city in Malaysia. Surely, local and foreign tourists would not be bored in this place since it has both the natural and commercial attractions that a traveler might find interesting and fun to experience.

Some of the good things to do with mother nature in KK is a trekking to the parks of Mt. Kinabalu. The city (obviously) is named after this mountain. It has scenic landscapes very pleasing to the eye and there are hot springs around the area with those Dr. Fishes living on it. Dr. Fishes are those fish that eats people’s dead skin. Some establishments use them for foot spa or healing centers. Other things to do in KK is shopping on its malls or even on its Sunday flea market. There are lots of goods and food available. One famous shopping center there is the KK Handicraft Market where local handicrafts and products are sold such as sarong, pearls, batik, and crystals.

Seoul, Korea – 2010 World Design Capital

There are a lot of numerous top 10 or any top sites to visit that we can find in the net but there is nothing more reliable than reading it from the webpage of a well-known media called the New York Times. According to New York Times website, NYTimes.com Seoul, Korea is top 3 in the 31 Places to Go in 2010. Surely, Korea’s rising for the past 5 years or so (in terms of economy and popularity), had been escalating until this year. South Korea has proved its worth through its fast-developing position in the world economy and of course, in popularity. Who would not recognize all those Korean series or horror movies or even the Wonder Girls or K-Pop music genre? Anyway, NY Times named Seoul, Korea as one of the key cities to go to this year. Some say Korea is the new Tokyo. The beautiful and urbanized city of Seoul has captivated many of the travelers’ around the world. Its line of eccentric and stunning art galleries along its outposts and its charming and quirky fashion places around its center all screaming as if going head-to-head with Milan’s fashion industry. Without doubt, Seoul Korea is not far from being a must-see place for this year and the years to come. It is running after Tokyo in terms of technology-advancement and Milan after its fashion and sense of style. BUT, there is one thing Korea (Seoul specifically) is number 1 at this moment and that is, the 2010 World Design Capital. The city got the title and that means, more of 2010 that Korea will have events pertaining to design being led by their design-obsessed Mayor, Oh Se-hoon.

And do not forget to try Kim-chi and Bulgogi once, in Korea already!
